officiating & life Rites
When considering someone to conduct your wedding, handfasting, vow renewal or other life rite, it is important the officiant you choose shares your values. For me, Love is Love. I identify as she/they, LGBTQIA+ and a Witch.
As a 3rd Degree Wiccan High Priestess, I have been ordained, both by my Tradition, recognizing my 25 years of practice and leadership in my community, and by the Covenant of the Goddess, an international non-profit religious advocacy organization which issues ministerial credentials to qualified candidates. Credential #110E23.
My officiating service includes a one-hour visioning consultation via Zoom when we discuss your priorities, whether you’re looking for a socially sensitive secular ceremony, you want to capture that “spiritual but not religious” vibe or you’re interested in the high theatre of a full ritual, Wiccan Handfasting Circle.
If within Los Angeles County, I can provide the additional service of helping a couple make their own handfasting cord, it’s very crafty. This requires three of us working together, two hours, some space, and a sense of humor…
Particularly important to me, I aim to not be appropriative. As such, I do not burn sage or palo santo in my ceremonies, for example. If this, or any other culturally significant ritual act is meaningful for the celebrants to include, we will work together to incorporate it in an appropriate way.
Ideally, our consultation and cord making (if applicable) is done a minimum of four weeks prior to the ceremony.
Officiating starts at $499.
Cord crafting is $199, includes supplies.
Flat travel fee of $100 is applied to ceremonies conducted in Ventura, Kern, Orange and San Diego Counties, as well as the Inland Empire. If your venue is 100+ miles away, additional fees apply TBD.
Otherwise, Life Rites can include anything along the spectrum from baby blessings to memorials and celebrations of life. Anything deserving of communal recognition, transitions into new ways of being, the beginning of one thing, the end of another… The passage through any Threshold of Change can be ritualized, providing both a psychological and spiritual marker: That was then, and this is now. Rates vary based on the requirements of the Rite.
